Join us TOMORROW, June 2nd, at the Kenosha County Administration Building to support a resolution to officially recognize June as Pride Month in Kenosha.

Background Information:

This Tuesday, the Kenosha County Human Services Commission will be considering a resolution to officially recognize June as Pride Month in Kenosha — we’re not sure if it will pass, but we’re going to do everything we can to make sure that it does!

We think this resolution is the right move, but it’s not a done-deal yet… it needs to go through committee before it can be voted on. After speaking with members of the Board of Supervisors, we believe that it would help for community members to come and show their support.

We are asking you to approve this action on behalf of the Rainbow Forward Task Force.

Requested Action:

We want this resolution to pass and Pride to be a recognized month in Kenosha. Here is how we will do that:

  • Fill the room – power in numbers! We need people there to show support and to speak on the importance of this issue. Invite your friends, family, anyone who can be there to show support.
  • Prepare a 2 minute speech – why is pride month being recognized important to us and to our community?
  • Bring a positive and supportive attitude – we need to have a calm and peaceful approach with the committee. We need them to vote in our favor!
  • Wear pride gear! Bring your best rainbow swag!

If you’re able to attend, please come prepared to speak positively and in support of the resolution for approximately two minutes — respectfully tell the Human Services Committee why it’s important to you. We encourage all to speak, but please come to show your support even if you will not speak. Wear some pride gear if you’ve got it!

We want to make sure that the meeting room is filled with supporters, so please share this with your friends, family, and allies, too!
