In a recent interview with 91.1 WGTD, Karen Kempinen (President of CUSH), Grant Pitts (Executive Director), and Rev. Kathleen Gloff (President of Wisdom WI) shared insights about our mission, and our non-partisan approach, which focuses on common social issues rather than political agendas.

Central to CUSH’s mission is the idea of community organizing as a powerful tool for change. Training offered by the national organization Gamaliel equips individuals with essential skills for effective organizing, such as mobilizing people and resources, improving communication around sensitive social issues, and fostering meaningful one-on-one discussions. These foundational skills are vital for understanding diverse perspectives and reaching common ground.

CUSH’s task forces are driven by the community as grassroots initiatives led by community members who identify critical issues and collaboratively develop actionable plans. This is a space for people to unite around shared concerns, focusing on achievable goals that address pressing needs. By harnessing the collective energy and diverse perspectives within our coalition, we aim to uplift social justice initiatives and forge stronger relationships with local religious leaders.

We invite congregations and individuals to partner with CUSH in this vital mission. Together, we can foster meaningful connections with leaders from various faith communities and enhance collaboration on social issues that impact our community.
