Environmental Justice
As part of our commitment to fostering awareness about the benefits of a thriving urban tree canopy, we held a public viewing of “Towards an Equitable & Resilient Urban Forest”, an insightful video crafted by the UW-Madison Office of Sustainability. The knowledge we gained will serve as a strong base for advocating trees as vital infrastructure that helps cool heat islands, purify our air, reduce carbon pollution, and enhance both physical and mental health in our community.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce our next session “Urban Trees: Placement and Species Choice”on November 19th at 6:00pm, and a special hands-on “Winter Sowing Workshop” on Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00pm which will be hosted at the Birchwood Condos Clubhouse, 1453 30th Avenue, Kenosha. We can’t wait to see you there!
